Just wanted to relate three quick stories from today that really need no commentary.
First up is the news that the Seville press united this morning to boycott the weekly player press conference, in protest at Betis's general unhelpfulness towards them, as well as at certain personal attacks from the official radio station. (Sweetly, they let Iriney know beforehand that it was nothing personal.)
Second, ABC is reporting that Betis are asking local TV station Canal Sur to come up with the €250,000 that's preventing agreement between the club and media rights company Mediapro. (Canal Sur has said previously that they never negotiate directly with clubs; they buy their coverage from intermediaries like Mediapro.) The club statement says, "If the autonomous body, to which all of us Andalucíans pay, will pay the money then Betis will reach an agreement with Mediapro; if this step is not taken, it will be Huesca-Albacete seen [this weekend] instead of Betis-Recreativo."
Third, it's been reported that 24-year-old reserve defender Lima, whose loan move to Flamengo broke down when he supposedly failed a medical, has been banned by Lopera from the Betis premises. The Brazilian is in "a state of distress", according to his agent.
Doesn't it all just make you want to weep?
