There are a couple of transfer stories around today that I've alluded to previously but have just been firmed up.
Firstly, the Brazilian centre-back Paulao has completed his signing on loan for the rest of the season (from Saint-Etienne) and even trained with his new team-mates this morning. He's nice and big - the local TV news programmes last night described him as looking like a basketball player - and is good enough that last season he played for Sporting Braga in the Champions League and Europa Cup (including the final). The experts seem to think he might be a bit of a steal, and there's a fair chance he might go straight into the side to face Granada on Sunday.
At the same time, the club have announced that Portuguese right-winger Salvador Agra has signed an agreement to join in the summer. Currently with Olhanense, he's a speedy Portugal Under-21 international and could eventually fill a position where Betis are currently short of talent.
